Vienna is...

not too big...

Max Vienna Tourguide

Viennas highest building is 250m. You can walk through the historic city center in 15 minutes. You won't find buildings like this there. It is - well - historic. The center is encircled by the magnificent Ringstrasse (opera, museums, etc...). Cross it and you are in one of the "inner districts" (district 2-9). You can walk from the center of each of these districts to St Stephans in about 30 minutes. Neat! Btw: the guy pointing at things is Max, your guide.

not too small...

Vienna Panorama from Leopoldsberg.jpg

Although small the center is so rich in sights, history and stories that we can do tours for days just in that small area. But don't forget about the surrounding districts. They are somewhat less history-dense but very much worth a visit. And then there is also the beautiful area of the Vienna Woods and the Wine Country. By public transport you can get from St. Stephans cathedral to Kahlenberg in only 45 minutes. No joke!

Just the right size!

Fiaker ride in Vienna.jpg

In one day you can take a guided tour of the city, hike to Kahlenberg, enjoy the view, nature and a glass of wine, get back to the city, take a guided tour of a museum, relax in a coffee house, hopp on a horse carriage ride because what the heck, and you still have plenty of time to get ready for the opera, the club or a relaxed evening stroll. This is entirely possible without breaking a sweat because Vienna is just the right size!
